Susan Pease Banitt Appointed NASW Oregon Chapter Treasurer-Elect
Susan Pease Banitt, LCSW, has been appointed to the NASW Oregon Chapter Board of Directors as treasurer-elect, filling a vacancy with an unexpired term. She will assume the two-year position of treasurer on July 1. Susan has over 30 years in mental health work in a variety of settings with hundreds of diverse clients, including residential childcare, child abuse prevention, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, outpatient clinics, medical hospitals and private practice.
Susan is the author of the award-winning book, The Trauma Tool Kit: Healing PTSD from the Inside Out. She led a weekly teleconference book club discussion on the book last summer for the chapter. Among community activities, Susan has co-chaired the Mental Health Council for the NASW Oregon Chapter, and was the board chair for Street Yoga in 2012, where she is now an advisor for best practices in bringing yoga techniques to at-risk youth in a variety of settings.
