Social Work Reinvestment Initiative

NASW Oregon

The goal of the Social Work Reinvestment (SWR) Initiative is to secure federal and state investments in professional social work to enhance societal well-being.  SWR was launched at the national level in 2006, and at the state level in 2007.  The Oregon Social Work Reinvestment Taskforce was formed in 2008.  The taskforce coordinated a state workforce survey in 2008 and hosted a 2009 forum related to the future of social work in Oregon.  Taskforce members include representatives from NASW Oregon Chapter, Concordia University, Legacy Health, Pacific University, Portland State University School of Social Work, Providence Medical Center, and University of Portland.
